Triebenberg Transmission Electron Microscopy Laboratory

The construction of the Triebenberg Laboratory was a big milestone in Dresden’s history of science and the laboratory has been an internationally recognized institution for cutting-edge research in Transmission Electron Microscopy for many years. Due to university politics, the lab was shut down in September 2016. The pictures were taken in February 2017, a time when the Lab was in the process of getting dismantled and cleared out. I was accompanied by the founder of the Laboratory, Prof. Dr. Lichte, who described the lab as a place between life and death – a modern heterotopia.
